The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications recently received an official visit from Yang Berhormat Datuk Sri Lee Kim Shin, Minister for Transport Sarawak, Malaysia. It took place a hotel in Gadong. The official visit by the Minister for Transport Sarawak, Malaysia began with a courtesy call to Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.
During the courtesy call, both parties discussed efforts to strengthen cooperation in the land, maritime and air transport sector, including aspects of safety, infrastructure development as well as collaboration opportunities between Brunei Darussalam and Sarawak, Malaysia. The visit signifies the continued commitment of both parties in fostering closer bilateral ties as well as opening up more cooperation opportunities that can be mutually beneficial to the people and economy of both parties.
The official visit continued with a Bilateral Meeting between the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunication and the Ministry of Transport Sarawak. Several matters were discussed among them the exchange of information on policy and transport sector as well as trans-border project achievement that have and are being carried out by both parties. The Minister for Transport Sarawak also held a meeting session with Brunei Darussalam logistics related companies including aviation and shipping.
